Bora Bora: The Best Time to Visit This Magical Island

Arrow

With its sandy beaches and crystal clear oceans, the French Polynesian island of Bora Bora is one of the most beautiful and romantic destinations on earth.

It’s important to bear in mind that the island has two separate climate seasons: summer and winter, if you’re thinking about visiting this lovely destination.

Bora Bora, winter lasts the entire year whereas summer lasts from October to May.

Many people think that the summertime, when it’s nice and sunny, is the greatest time to travel to Bora Bora.

But this is also the busiest season of the year for travel. Consider going during the shoulder season if you want a more laid-back experience (April-May or October-November).

There won’t be as many people, but you’ll still have lovely weather. And if you want to save money, go on a trip when it’s not peak season (December-March). Pack your raincoat because this is also the rainy season.

On Bora Bora, there are three distinct seasons: dry, wet, and transitional. It usually rains from May through November/December and is dry from December through April/May.

If you are thinking about travelling during the transitional period between these two seasons, know that one is likely to be winding down while the other is gaining momentum.

Although the dry season can occasionally be rather hot with humidity levels close to 100%, it’s vital to keep in mind that it also has less raindrops and mosquitoes.
