THINGS TO DO IN TWO HARBOR MN (With locals experience)

The Two Harbors has a wide variety of things to do and some of the things that are very rare or special are in this blog. And the places are very good and have interesting things to do.

Two harbors is a historical place and once it was famous for cigar factories and it was two different separated communities and their name was Agate bay and Burlington in earlier days but now it is a complete city.

The two harbors lighthouse holds the record as the oldest continuously operating lighthouse and it is just 19 miles away from the southwest shore. And the light was first lit on 15th April 1892.

This place is awesome and in this blog, I am going to share some of my experiences while I was exploring this beautiful city and after reading these experiences you will get the perfect idea of whether it is good or not for a vacation or short trip.

1, 3M Birthplace Museum

If you are near the area it is worth stop and if you love to dig into historical things then this place is for you. And the entry is just 5$ which is very cheap as per the locals but it is kind of small museum.

In this museum there at many things to see which are rare and tourist love to visit this place, it will hardly take your 1 hour to explore this place fully.

The staff here is very helpful and they answer all you question and when I went there was just one lady who was clearing the doubt of people about the historic things. The rating of this place is 4.1/5 and the review are also good.

2, Tom’s Logging Camp

It is a treasure of historical things, there are so much to see here and reading it might not give you an idea of how lovely is this place. It is a gift shop where you can get so many historical things.

And if you don’t want to buy anything then also visit this place because you will get so much to see. Some of the idols were so real that you won’t believe them. A wolf, two girls and two boys sitting on the dining table.

3, Lona’s Beach

This beach is a very unusual place and doesn’t know why people not much visit this place it is also known as ‘Singing Beach’. And the reason for that is the pink small little rocks.

It is not like other beaches it has got pink soft little stones instead of grey and golden sand. And when the water waves into these pink rock they sound like they are singing.

This beach is a perfect hidden gem, and tourist must visit such kind of places even locals who stay near this beach love to visit every day in the evening to listen to the soft smooth sound made by the pink rocks.

4, Stoney Point

This place is very quiet and peaceful. Best place to click some great photos for memories. There is enough space for a walk and you can also do hiking here on the rocks.

This place looks better when there are high waves and people do surfing here. Local people love this place and visit every day for wave watching.

The only things are you have to hustle a little bit to reach here there are many stairs and at the end of the day, you will get a nice leg ache same as I got when I visited this place.

5, Split Rock Lighthouse State Park

This lighthouse is the most scenic in America and there you can walk peacefully and click some beautiful photos with the lighthouse.

And it is one of the most photographed lighthouses in America. There’s also a gallery where you can see how it was built which is also a great thing to do.

The only main problem here is the parking and otherwise, it is the best things to do in Two harbors. The review of this place is also good and it has got a rating of 4.7/5 which this place deserves.

6, Gooseberry River

It is mostly known for its waterfalls, and the main purpose of visitors is fishing you will find a very good quantity of dishes here and the size of the fishes are also too good.

You can either walk around the place and explore or you can do fishing here and when I was there two friends were having a barbecue in the corner and they were enjoying the music in the background.

And these beautiful places have one problem is insects and bugs if possible bring your bug spray so that you won’t be in trouble like I was. Overall this place is good reviews and ratings are also good.

7, Agate Bay Beach

This is a cool place worth every minute spent here. The weather was cool so it was better to walk. There were a boat camp lighthouse and a lovely scenic view.

It was very fascinating to watch the ships going on their way. I can spend hours and hours watching this, it was the best place on the whole trip.

8, Superior Hiking Trail

This hiking trail is 310 mile long footpath where you can do hiking. It is difficult but if you like to do adventurous things then you should try this thing whenever you are in Two Harbor.

The one end is at jay cooke state park and the other end is at Canada – US border near Lake superior. This trails is not that easy you have to cross many obstacles such as waterfalls, rushing river, birch, pine, aspen and many more.

It has total 93 campsites after every 8-9 miles for rest and breaks, if you are a long distance trekker. And the one who completes the trail will get to see the inspiring view of sawtooth Mountain which is very beautiful but at the same time difficult.
