MYSTIC BEACH (ULTIMATE TRAVEL GUIDE 2023)

Mystics Beach is also known as Minnamurra Beach, it is a beach where rivers meet the ocean, making it very rare and unique. This beach is not crowded, and after visiting here it feels like a private beach.

In the local language, Minnamurra means “a lot of fish.” Near the Minnamurra River, you’ll also find a variety of shells and stones, as well as fish. This beach is one of the top three in Australia. It is also the first officially recognised freshwater inland beach.

Mystic beach

This beach is well-known, and it also has a lot of historical significance and a high ranking on the list. And all of this makes this beach worth visiting, and tourists enjoy visiting places that are ranked on other lists.

Mystics Beach is a popular destination for locals, who recommend going there in the evenings and early mornings. Swimming, surfing, fishing, and camping are among the activities available here.

Killalea State Park Camping is a special place near the beach for camping. And for swimming, this beach is very good because of the clean water, and because there are very few visitors per year, the water and the beach are both very clean.

Mystic Beach is located between Stack Island and Rocky Head. Locals claim that tourists become disoriented and stray a little too far from the main attraction.

Because the prices of hotels with a beach view are very high, it is recommended that you book your hotel room a little further away so that you can get a good deal as well as comfortable rooms.

I have chosen the top ten hotels in Minnamurra that provide good service, and the cheapest hotel is only AUD 170; however, it does not have a beach view, and you must pay at least AUD 520 for a beach view hotel.

Things to do in Mystics Beach

1, The farm, Killalea National surfing reserve

The farm got its name because there is only one way to get to the beach, and that is through the private property farm. However, if you are permitted to enter, no one will prevent you from doing so.

The farm provides large deepwater and open rolling waves with a long inshore impact zone, allowing surfers to ride at least 200 to 400 metres in a single session. This location is suitable for all levels of surfers, from beginner to advanced.

Surfing was declared here in 2009, and the first surfers were Blake Bisaker and Don Freeman, who tried surfing in 1960.

The farm and mystics are the two surfing beaches in Killalea National Park, both of which are less than 500 metres long. Both beaches are diametrically opposed, and as a result, they provide a completely different surfing experience to the surfer.

2, Killalea State Park Camping

It is the best camping site in town, and they provide all of the basic amenities such as a kitchen, bunkhouse, grill areas, laundry area, and a hot shower.

The staff at this location is extremely helpful and friendly, and they provide accurate information about the location via a guided tour. The security at the front door is also excellent.

You can also have a bonfire there; it’s a great place to hang out with family and friends, and if you’re in a group, they’ll give you a discount.

There are also nearby cafes where you can visit in the morning, as well as a golf course, so you can do some activities while camping.

This location is very well maintained, and the beach is only a short walk away.

3, Minnamurra River

This lovely river can be found in the Illawarra region of North-South Wales, Australia.

This river has a basin size of 45 square miles and a length of 14 miles, both of which are quite large, and it flows eastward. The river empties into the Jamberoo valley, which is surrounded to the west by mountains.

It is a popular swimming spot, but locals claim to have seen sharks here, predicting that they do not bite sharks and are small in size. Because there hasn’t been any news about a shark biting a human up until now.

You can also go kayaking here because it is a haven for kayakers and paddleboarders, which is a great thing to do while you’re here. You’ll also notice a lot of fishermen over here, each with their own large net.

The river enters through the offshore island known as Rangoon Island, which is also a tourist attraction, so you can take some beautiful pictures here.

There is also a tennis court, a children’s playground, barbecue facilities, picnic areas, and a boat ramp, as well as ample parking. This location is less crowded and ideal for visiting with family and friends.

4, Minnamurra Point

It is a must-see if you are visiting Mystics Beach and is very close to Stack Island. So you can get there by walking a few metres.

It is one of the best places in Australia to take beautiful photographs, and locals say that photographers are frequently seen here. It is a stoney area, which means there are large and small stones all around that are distinct from one another.

Beautiful shells can also be found here. This is a very romantic and non-crowded location. The best part about this location is that it is quiet, and you can sit there with your Travelmate and just listen to the waves.

5, Minnamurra Whale Watching Platform

The platform is excellent, and there are many people here who have seen dolphins. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and they explain everything to you. Mystics Beach is only 1.2 kilometres away.

The parking is very close to the location, and it is said to be one of the best on-land viewing spots in the Kiama area. However, locals claim that the number of visitors is insignificant in comparison to the beauty of the area, and that people should return frequently.
